A short stroll in the deep sky

Deep sky (DS) is a term used to describe all celestial structures located outside the solar system. These objects often remain invisible to the naked eye despite their colossal dimensions. The best known are in the Messier catalog (M), the first astronomer (a Frenchman!) to have listed them.
