Known since antiquity, the Pleiades form an open cluster of young, bluish stars, visible to the naked eye in the constellation Taurus. Their light passes through a cloud of interstellar dust, which emits a characteristic blue glow.

Fun Fact: In Greek mythology, the Pleiades are the seven daughters of Atlas and Pleione, transformed into stars to escape the hunter Orion, who, several millennia later, still hasn't caught them...
